I absolutely love this place. Best place to go for a home cooked meal, and the sweat tea is delicious. The prices are my favorite part! You can get a whole meal under $10. Each day, they have a special veggie option and entree option. They also have a regular menu that dowant change. The service is really good. The workers are always friendly & attentive. They keep the place very clean. We come here about once a week!
My family is on a mini vacation in the area and decided to try Oakwood Cafe for dinner tonight based on menu and previous reviews. It was exactly what we were wanting - casual, home style food. We were impressed that our food came out really fast! Service was good. Food tasted fresh and we all got our favorites. Three of us had dinner, drinks, and dessert for about $50.
Place that feels like everybody knows everybody but if they don't know you they might try to get to know you. Prices are extremely reasonable but I'm from the west coast so I'm used to outrageous prices that restaurant owners must charge to survive out there. Food at Oakwood is very good and they have a few unique items you'll only find here. Server was outstanding! Acted like she was truly interested in making sure I had what I wanted and was happy. 100% recommend Oakwood. It's not fine dining, but it's a solid meal at a great price with great people.
We found this place while we were out on an adventure and absolutely do not regret finding this little gem! A very attentive staff and the FOOD was AMAZING! I had the turkey Cuban sandwich and LOVED EVERY LAST BITE! My wife had the veggie plate with beans, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and squash casserole. I personally don't eat fried okra, but my wife said it was GREAT! She said it didn't seem like the frozen kind at all! Oh! I almost forgot to mention the coleslaw!!! Their coleslaw ranks as some of the best in my book! Finely cut and a little sweet! All-in-all, this restaurant was a WONDERFUL FIND, and we look forward to going back and eating there again!
Great restaurant. The food was legit home cooked country style food. Service was awesome and atmosphere was great. Cubed steak was real cubed steak, not frozen, squash casserole and mashed potatoes were like you would get at grandma's on Sunday. Highly recommend .

Great experience at this diner this morning. Had the Godzilla omelette with biscuit and gravy, OJ and coffee. Just added a pancake. Neighbor table ordered one... Huge! Filled the plate. Kitchen is really fast. Tasty food.
Loved it! Loved how patient they were with me when I ate breakfast there with my daughter before she went back to Statesboro. They let sit there as long as we wanted, no complaints. Great staff! Great food! Great atmosphere!
Breakfast was delicious! We ordered The Oakwood plate 2 eggs, bacon, grits and rye toast. He got Veggie omelet. We also tried the Sweet potato pancake with pecans. That was my Favorite! I like it better with no syurp. We also brought home today's special, Beef tips on rice with Black eyed peas and corn casserole. Yummy!
Best food we’ve had our whole trip! We were just traveling through while on vacation. So glad we stopped! Delicious, hot, and flavorful food! And the food came out incredibly fast, even despite several people being there. The fries were so fluffy & crispy! Next time we come through this way we are definitely stopping. Thank you!
